Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first trial she took her skills, she placed second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200m. In 2007, she was able to defend the title against her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
