Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara was born on 28 February 1948. She is an American performer, actress, and children's author. In a span of more than six decades, she's appeared in the musical theatre, on television and in film, performed in performances on her own and recorded. Critically well-known Broadway performer she has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She has won three. Four of her Broadway cast albums on which she's performed have received Grammy Awards.



 



 Many believe Peters as the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is particularly well-known for her performances on Broadway like Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
